About Apple Code Signing

The iOS (.ipa) and macOS (.dmg) builds are currently unsigned because an Apple Developer license costs $99/year. iOS requires sideloading via Sideloadly; macOS needs a one-time Gatekeeper bypass. Android and Windows install directly with no extra steps. Your support helps us get the certificate and eliminate these steps for everyone.

Before you start: The IPA is not signed with an Apple Developer certificate. You must use Sideloadly (free) on a computer to install it. With a free Apple ID the app expires every 7 days — Sideloadly's Wi-Fi auto-reinstall can handle this automatically.

    Download from sideloadly.io and install on your computer. Launch it.

    Connect your iPhone/iPad via USB

    Plug in your device. If prompted on your iPhone, tap "Trust This Computer" and enter your passcode.

    Select your device in Sideloadly

    Your device appears in the dropdown at the top. Select it.

    Drag ViewPrime.ipa into Sideloadly

    Drag and drop ViewPrime.ipa onto the Sideloadly window, or click the IPA icon to browse.

    Enter your Apple ID and click Start

    Type your Apple ID email. Click Start. Enter your Apple ID password when prompted. Enter the 2FA code if you have two-factor authentication. Wait 30–60 seconds.

    Trust the developer profile on your iPhone

    On your iPhone, go to:

    Settings → General → VPN & Device Management

    Find the profile under your Apple ID. Tap it → tap "Trust [your email]" → confirm.

    Open ViewPrime and start streaming

    Find ViewPrime on your home screen. Tap it and enjoy.

⏰ The 7-day expiry & auto-reinstall

Why 7 days? Apple limits free Apple ID sideloaded apps to 7 days. After that the app stops opening. Re-sideload using the same steps above, or use Sideloadly's Wi-Fi auto-reinstall below.

    Enable Wi-Fi Sideloading in Sideloadly

    Open Sideloadly preferences → enable "Enable Wi-Fi Sideloading".

    Enable Wi-Fi Sync on iPhone

    Connect via USB → open Finder (macOS) or iTunes (Windows) → select your device → check "Show this iPhone when on Wi-Fi" → Apply.

    Keep Sideloadly running in the background

    As long as both devices share the same network, Sideloadly detects expiry and re-signs automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • "Max number of apps reached"

    Free Apple IDs can sideload only 3 apps at once. Remove an existing sideloaded app or use a second Apple ID.

  • App crashes on launch

    Ensure you've completed Step 7 (trust the profile). If the app has expired, re-sideload it.

  • "Unable to install" error

    Keep your device unlocked during installation. Restart both computer and iPhone, then retry.

macOS

Unsigned DMG • One-time Gatekeeper bypass • ~3 minutes

Why the warning? The DMG is not notarized with an Apple Developer certificate. macOS Gatekeeper blocks unsigned apps by default. The steps below bypass this safely — you only need to do this once.

Method 1 — System Settings (recommended)

    Double-click the DMG to mount it.

    Drag ViewPrime to Applications

    Drag the ViewPrime icon into the Applications folder shortcut in the DMG window.

    Try to open ViewPrime

    Go to Applications and double-click ViewPrime. macOS shows: "ViewPrime can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." Click OK.

    Open System Settings → Privacy & Security

    Scroll to the Security section. You'll see: "ViewPrime was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer."

    Click "Open Anyway"

    Authenticate with your password or Touch ID, then click Open on the final dialog. ViewPrime launches. Future opens are normal.

Method 2 — Right-click to open

    Find ViewPrime in Finder → Applications

    Right-click (or Control+click) the app icon

    Select "Open" from the context menu → click "Open" in the dialog

Method 3 — Terminal (advanced / macOS Sequoia)

If you see "ViewPrime is damaged and can't be opened", run this in Terminal:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/ViewPrime.app

Enter your password, then open ViewPrime normally.

macOS Sequoia (15.0+): If the Terminal command above still doesn't work, temporarily allow all apps:
sudo spctl --master-disable

Install and open ViewPrime, then re-enable protection:

sudo spctl --master-enable

Windows

    Click "More info" → then "Run anyway".

    Follow the on-screen steps. Find ViewPrime in the Start Menu or on your Desktop.

SmartScreen explained: Windows flags new executables that haven't built a reputation yet. This is standard for newly released apps and is not an indication of malware. As more users install ViewPrime, this warning disappears automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • "More info" not visible in SmartScreen

    Right-click the EXE → Properties → check "Unblock" at the bottom → Apply → run again.

  • Antivirus blocks the installer

    Temporarily disable real-time protection, install ViewPrime, then re-enable. Add ViewPrime's folder to your antivirus exclusions.

Do I need subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, etc.?

ViewPrime aggregates content from multiple sources. We strongly encourage subscribing to the original platforms to support the artists and studios who create the content you love. These platforms invest heavily in original productions — your subscription directly supports those creators.

Which devices are supported?

ViewPrime runs on Android (APK), iOS (IPA via Sideloadly), macOS (DMG), and Windows (EXE). All four platforms are live. See the Installation Guide above for setup instructions for each.

Why does the iOS app expire after 7 days?

This is an Apple limitation. Apps sideloaded with a free Apple ID are valid for only 7 days. After that, re-sideload with Sideloadly (same steps, takes 2 minutes). Sideloadly's Wi-Fi auto-reinstall feature can automate this completely. See the iOS guide above.

Can I stream in 4K or 8K?

Yes. ViewPrime supports up to 8K where available. You can also manually select quality (480p through 8K) for any stream. Available quality depends on the source and content.
